An
interesting afternoon at Cooks River and Botany
Arrival at Cooks at 4.10 pm :
New Yard
EL58/62 in James' Siding with a loaded train facing
Enfield
NR104/10 on a train from Botany in the
Runaround
NR99 nose facing Botany LE in the Master
Siding
Yard
4486
4814
EL61/63/51 (sorry, didn't note which way they were
facing) - when did EL51 return, and which way did it come ?
8148
At 4.20 pm 4716/4703
raced through towards Botany (A ends together)
Catching up with them at Botany at 5 pm they had
run around their train and then had a crew change - with the driver commenting
to his relief driver
" I've left you with a nice pretty green one !
"
After the change the 47's proceeded to push
back its half loaded train towards Port Botany. All the while 8161 shunted
1 grain wagon into Kelloggs and 8216 sat at the top of F frame ready to leave on
a train of flats.
By 5.10 pm 4703/4716 had shunted
their train into CTAL, then it was home time for me.
Is this the first working on the
Botany Line by 4703 and possibly its first task since being in Sydney
?
Hope you enjoy - I sure did,
Chris
