Re: FA 9383 & 9381

Aus loco discussion mailing list

No.9381 FA empty wheat passed through Exeter at 12.30 behind G543,
T399 & T390, looking great in their new green livery. I chased the
train to Goulburn and managed to record some excellent video sequences
(some even in sunlight). 9383 was a FreightCorp train - the other FA
grain is still in the deep south. Along with all the regulay Saturday
arvo National Rail services, there was also a large number of
FreightCorp wheaties running in both directions, including an up train
worked by an 81, 82, 48 combo and a down one worked by 3 81s and an
82. Late in the day I came across an National Rail limestone train
worked by an NR & DL in the up refuge at Wingello. After YN2 worked by
two NRs, one of which was NR52, passed it a pair of 80s on the oil
from Canberra pulled up next to it and waited while the limestone
departed then blasted through the station about 15 minutes later. A
very busy afternoon of videoing on the Short South!
Bevan Wall.
