Enfield Yard Sightings 06/04/00

I took a lunchtime side trip to Enfield yard - It turned out to be a
very busy & productive half hour between 1:30 - 2pm.

At Enfield Yards:

8229/8251 entering Northern end of yard with a string of NGMA grain
wagons at around 1:30pm

A Silverton 442S (couldn't see the number) stabled in yard awaiting the
road, facing north with a string of ex-AN open wagons.

8123 stabled in the yard

8627/81??/8607/8617 stabled near the main building (yes!, there was an
81 Class sandwiched between the 86's but could see the number)

8007 shunting in the yard

4876/4862 idling on a container train

On the through Roads:

XP2014/XP2011 back to back. XP2011 was repainted at Chullora and more
than likely being returned to Meeks Road by XP2014.

8017/8047 on an empty sandstone train to Rozelle (stopped briefly at the
level crossing for a crew change).

Austrac 1873 powering through heading North with an near empty container
train.

LVRF 4486/EL58-D/EL62-D (both in AN Green) with a full container train
heading south.

Chullora NR Yard:

6x Standard NR's (Sorry couldn't see numbers)

8121

Also seen on Rookwood Rd Bridge at 2:30pm:

LVRF 4701/4716 with full container train heading towards Enfield.

12 different loco classes, 6 separate companies (LVRF, Austrac,
FreightCorp, National Rail, Silverton & Countrylink) all in a space of
30 minutes!
