Adelaide H Types 360 & 362

These trams arrived at the Museum in 1982 (362 in September and 360 in December) under a lease arrangement with the STA. 362 was repainted in the silver and carnation red livery and placed into Museum service, while 360 was stored. In March 1995, the then Transport Minister, Diana Laidlaw, donated both 360 and 362 to the Museum.

In 1999 it was decided to refurbish 360 to it's original 1929 condition. This was completed in time for 360 to participate in the 70th anniversary of the Glenelg tram line in December. It entered Museum service in January 2000, and currently makes regular appearances in Operations. At the 2001 COTMA Conference in Ballarat we received an award for this restoration.

The refurbishment of 360 was achieved by removing a small number of parts from 362. This has left 362 operational but not serviceable, and it is currently in storage.

Here are some photos of our two Glenelg trams.

Here are some more recent images. The original images are larger (~1800x1200, >500kB) than previous photos (~900x600, 200kB), so there are two links for each. The thumbnail and "Small" lead to the smaller version, while "Large" links to the large version (these may take a while to download).
